Scottish Cup 4th round Preview

This weekend we have the Scottish Cup fourth round here is a preview of all the games:
Saturday at 3pm unless stated:

Ross County v Inverness CT :
Sat 1st Dec 12.15
Live on BBC 1 Scotland
The Highland derby the first at Victoria Park since County were promoted. Odds are 6/4 for a win for either team and 9/4 for a replay at the Tulloch Stadium. My tip is a Ross County win 2-1. A replay or a Inverness win is defiantly not out the question.

Aberdeen v Motherwell :
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
Another all-SPL clash between 4th and 5th at Pittodrie. Earlier in the season we saw a 3-3 draw with Aberdeen coming back from 3-1 down to prevent Motherwell going top. Odds for this one are 6/5 for a home win and draw is 9/4 and 19/10 for an away win. My bet is for a win for the Steelmen.

Celtic v Arbroath:
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
This is a big money tie for the men from Arbroath at Celtic Park. They are 16/1 long shots to win at Celtic park as the home team are 1/14, its 10/1 for a draw. I would say that it should be an easy win for Celtic and  it probably will be but the home side may put out a "B side" and rest players for the Spartak match in midweek.

Cowdenbeath v St Johnstone
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
St Johnstone will be making the short 27 mile trip to Cowdenbeath. It won't be easy as the Cow's proved that last year as the almost upset Hibs when they lost 3-2 after scoring in the 1st minute. Saints are 1/2 favourites, a draw is 10/3 and those punters going for a cup shock will have 4/1 odds for the home team. I will say a replay is on the cards here.

Dumbarton v Hamilton
Tuesday 4th December 19.45
An exotic all-Division 1 clash at the Rock the home team will be looking to consolidate their poor start to the season by going into round 5 of the Scottish Cup. The re-arranged match was postponed due to a frozen pitch. Highlights are available on BBC Sport Website. My tip is a boring 0-0 draw.

Forfar Athletic v Ayr United
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
An all-SFL 2 match on the new 3G pitch at Station Park. The two teams are 4th and 6th in the 2nd division and are only separated by two points. A Forfar win is 5/4 a replay at Somerset Park is 5/2 and a win for the away team is at 7/4. My tip an home win for Forfar and into the hat for the last 16.

Kilmarnock V Queen of the South
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
The home side will be without suspended skipper Manuel Pascali after the defender failed in a bid to have his weekend red card overturned when they host Queens at Rugby Park. The men from Dumfries are high flying after their excellent start to the season. However, the second division leaders are without ex-Dundee United man Kevin Smith. Odds for this one are for a home win 4/7 a draw 3/1 and a Queens win 9/2. For me I can see a upset here as Queens have beat The Rangers and Hibs this season and ran Dundee Utd close,

Livingston v Dundee

Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
A match at Almondvale between Livi and Dundee. I can see Dundee squeezing a 2-1 win here as SPL side would go into the draw for Round 5. However, Dundee remain without Carl Finnigan who faces a second knee operation next week, while Davide Grassi and Mark Stewart continue their recoveries. Also still missing are captain Stephen O'Donnell (hamstring), Mark Kerr (knee), Brian Easton (hamstring), and Jamie McCluskey (Achilles). Odds for this one are Livi 2/1 a replay at Dens 5/2 and a Dundee win 6/5.

Partick v Dunfermiline:
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
An All-SFL 1 clash at Firhill. The League leaders would be glad that Steven Craig is back in their squad after he missed last week's win over Livingston with a back spasm. Graeme Smith will continue to deputise for injured keeper Scott Fox, while Ludovic Roy should be signed on a short-term deal as back-up.Dunfermline full back Stephen Jordan could feature after returning from a calf problem. The only other doubt for the Pars is midfielder Ryan Thomson who is listed despite haing recently broken his nose. I can see a Partick 3-1 win here. A Partick win is 11/10 a draw 5/2 and a away win 2/1.

Raith v Devronvale:
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
Raith Rovers defender Dougie Hill returns after a ban although Allan Walker remains suspended. Howerver, goalkeeper David McGurn and defender Laurie Ellis shoudl feature after they returned to training this week. Deveronvale striker Craig Morrison should be available after recovering from a knock although midfielder Jack Meldrum is an injury doubt. Michele Lombardi and Graeme Watt are also doubtful due to work commitments. 1/6 for a Raith win , 6/1 for a draw and 10/1 for a win for the non-league team. My tip is for a really big shock and the Higlanders to win in Kircaldy.

St Mirren v Brechin
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
St Mirren striker Steven Thompson is a doubt after going off with a hip knock during Tuesday's goalless draw away to Ross County. Jim Goodwin is suspended after being booked twice in the Cup last season, and long-term absentees Paul McGowan and Darren McGregor remain sidelined. Brechin manager Ray McKinnon has only one injury concer for the trip to Paisley. Attacking midfielder Alan Trouten is struggling with a groin injury. My tip is for a replay at the bowling green. Odds are for a for a home win 2/9 a draw 9/2 and a away win 9/1.

Stenhousemuir v Falkirk
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30

A match at Ochilview, between the SFL 2 team and the SFL 1 outfit. My tip a fairly easy win for Falkirk about 2-0. Odds for a unlikely home win 11/4 a draw 5/2 and a away win 5/6.

Turriff United v Greenock Morton
Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
Darren McAllister and Ritchie Ligertwood are suspended for Turriff's first-ever meeting with a SFL side. Dave McKenzie has a knee injury, loan signing Mike McKenzie is cup-tied and Gary Harris, Nick Gray, Robbie Allan and Grant Pennett are injury doubts. Morton midfielder Kyle Wilkie is out after picking up a leg knock in a midweek reserve match. Wilkie is joined on the sidelines by Peter MacDonald, Archie Campbell and Tony Wallace. My tip is for a away win.

Rangers v Elgin                                                                                                                                              Live on SKY Sports 1 at 13.00

Winger David Templeton and striker Francisco Sandaza could return for Rangers after they both recovered from long-term injuries. Templeton has been out with ankle ligament damage since mid-September, his comeback curtailed by a hamstring injury, while Sandaza has been out with a fractured cheekbone. Captain Lee McCulloch is also available for selection after suffering a slight calf strain last week. My tip, unfortantely is for a Rangers win. Odds: an Away win is 12/1 a draw is 9/1 and a home win 1/10.

Hibernian v Heart of Midlothian

Live on SKY Sports 2 at 15.15
My favorite fixture, the Edinburgh derby will Hibs finally get a win. I think so, there at 7/4 Hearts are at 6/4 and a draw for a replay at Tynecastle is at 23/10.

Stranraer v Dundee United

Highlights on BBC 1 Scotland at 22.30
Stranraer player-manager Stephen Aitken is hoping that his brother Chris will pass a fitness test to join him in midfield after four weeks out. Although he has returned to training, the Blues are again without Ryan Borris who remains has a thigh injury. Dundee United defenders Sean Dillon (thigh) and Gavin Gunning (ankle) are doubts, but Willo Flood is expected to recover from an ankle knock.Gary Mackay-Steven remains sidelined after breaking a bone in his hand. My tip is for an easy United win. They are at 1/6, a replay at Tannadice is 11/2 and a unlikely home win is at 11/1.
